Heima Brixton Bbq Party

One of the great summer parties thrown this year. Heima alongside Status Magazine, Co. Lab, and Keds hosted The Brixton Bbq Party last April 20 over at Heima's new home in Brixton. Heima's concrete driveway was converted to instant social platform where creatives, entrepreneurs, and influencers alike came in their best street-style summer outfit and enjoyed music, good food-- roasted corn!-- and great friends. Featured live performances included No Rome, Similar Objects, Major Chie, Idkids, CoExist, Zomtendo, Skymarines, I Press Play, and Nativity. Best part of the party was taking in Heima's display of latest Sweet Summer products and designs-- quirky furniture and vintage pieces! Eager shoppers, with me, swarmed and oogled til our heart's content. The store was truly one of its own kind. Visit Heima at #3 Brixton Street Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Here are some photos from that fun fun night!

Pretty mint lamps. Lovin' the effect of black bricks juxtaposed to the mint lamps.

I'd like to call this 'Pinwheel Wall'. The wall that caught my awe. Reminded me of the quirky window displays of Anthropologie. Utter genius!

Heima is the furniture designer behind Kamiseta's new pastry shop, Vanilla Cupcake Bakery. If you visit one of their shops, you see that the vibe is much aligned with Heima's design concept. Very quirky and feminine.

Rainbows & Ombre

The Brixton Bbq Party happened at Heima's new store. Will write more about the party on my  post later :) The moment I heard bbq party, a purchase from a recent shopping trip came flying off my wardrobe rack! Bbq parties may as well pass off as backyard-party version of coachella fests. Given you're serving music and fashion in one plate! Boho inspired-- there goes your florals, lace, tribals, denims, braids, feathers, booties-- enter the eclectic realm of such celebrations. I, on the other hand, diverted from boho (don't get me wrong, I heart boho!), and slid into this pair of rainbow cosmic delight. Then again, anything breezy will pass off at a bbq party! So many reasons why I love this pair. One, is because they're matchy-matchy! I've unconsciously been scouring the malls for summer matching top & bottom. It didn't take me a moment's hesitation to pounce on this purchase. Haha Second, its combination of cosmic print in  pastel palette is just refreshing. And third, it's a middy (top) and made from soft material- like to think it's silk :) Something that equips one to cohabit in this intense weather! For accessories, accessorized with ombre earrings. The ombre trend just doesn't end on your pretty tresses (think sweet Kelly Osbourne's grayish purple hair- which I heart, btw). If you're indecisive of what color to sport, just go ombre! one ihop day

Chilled with my girls yesterday. Thanks, Pet and Jak... and Gio ;p ! As usual, had another sisterhood-of-the-traveling-pants moment! Haha Where better city-spot to chillax but at the ever expanding landscapes of BGC (Bonifacio Global City, Taguig). Well, aside from one of our girlfriends residing in the area, the place has been our constant go-to when we're such couch potatoes to think out-of-the-box. Yeah, one of them days! Haha So, we were drawn to IHop! All our 1st times since it recently opened. Some hearsay circulating on how the place didn't live up to what it offered in the states. Regardless, I still wanted to put my two cents in, and dragged my best gals along! Much to our surprise, we enjoyed it! I heart their cinnamon pancake! And butter pecan syrup! And those french toasts! Yum! The place was packed (as anticipated), but we skidded past the long queue even before our waiting seats warmed up. Service was splendid, didn't take long much, or probably we didn't notice because we were immersed in girl talk!?! Serving portions, more than average. Their meals 'felt' heavy! Haha So, there, our IHop experience. Oh, btw, here's what I wore! Haha (Sorry, this wasn't 'really'  an IHop brief, just got carried away! Or not?..)

Was in the mood for laidback, it was a Thursday afternoon after all (too many 'afters'). I'm feeling the love of maxi skirts this season. The weather may be parched, but the softness and easiness of long skirts especially when you feel the fabric easily grazing your gams as you skid thru your day, is sartorial comfort. But instead of hoarding these seasonal pieces, I converted 1 of my maxi dresses to a skirt by pairing it over with this breezy tank and tying a knot for that instant shape-shifter (hmm, just dunno if I succeeded on that shape-shifter thing ;p) :) Knots are fun alternatives to donning a belt! Try this maxi dress with any fashion tops- your wardrobe and a pinch of creativity is the limit! Lemme know how it goes!

Last, but not the least, thanks to Dra. Jackie for these fab photos! Well, wouldn't you know? Your future isn't on those chaotic charts and overly discerning medical chiefs (Peace :) I don't think anyone reads, anyways. Wink! Wink!)! Call me, maybe?! Love, love!

Braids, sheers, embros

The moment I saw Valentino SS 2012 last year, I've been silently wishing to try those romantic crown braids. Just been hanging around for the perfect occasion. Attempted these braids for a summer ad with the brand I was working for back then. Haha Here I am in a white sheer dress with braided locks for a good friend's wedding at Shangrila, Boracay. The lightness and airiness of the dress spelled beach wedding. Thanks to Bangz, who dropped by our hotel to give me a hand. After Bangz effortlessly maneuvered my braids, I tied my loose strands into a no-fuss low bun. Braids, polka dot sheer, not to mention-- white, puzzled in together the quintessential romantic look I was trying to aim for. Stepped into comfy wedge shoes. Wedge shoes are my most trusted armor in parties along shores. We don't want to sink our stilletos into those loose sands. Either wedges or dear slippers, any footwear with full soles. Whala! Capped off with red lips for a tinge of drama-- nah, just really wanted to work some color to this nearly white canvass :p

Delicate embroidery with keyhole chest

Forever 21- fringe earrings (I like to call them robot earrings :p Am I the only one who sees the semblance?!)

Sharing photos of my favorite part of the wedding! Raiding the snack bar!

Snack Bar in scrabble-inspired print. As if we'd miss those candies with all them colors and saccharine glory!
