Rainbows & Ombre

The Brixton Bbq Party happened at Heima's new store. Will write more about the party on my  post later :) The moment I heard bbq party, a purchase from a recent shopping trip came flying off my wardrobe rack! Bbq parties may as well pass off as backyard-party version of coachella fests. Given you're serving music and fashion in one plate! Boho inspired-- there goes your florals, lace, tribals, denims, braids, feathers, booties-- enter the eclectic realm of such celebrations. I, on the other hand, diverted from boho (don't get me wrong, I heart boho!), and slid into this pair of rainbow cosmic delight. Then again, anything breezy will pass off at a bbq party! So many reasons why I love this pair. One, is because they're matchy-matchy! I've unconsciously been scouring the malls for summer matching top & bottom. It didn't take me a moment's hesitation to pounce on this purchase. Haha Second, its combination of cosmic print in  pastel palette is just refreshing. And third, it's a middy (top) and made from soft material- like to think it's silk :) Something that equips one to cohabit in this intense weather! For accessories, accessorized with ombre earrings. The ombre trend just doesn't end on your pretty tresses (think sweet Kelly Osbourne's grayish purple hair- which I heart, btw). If you're indecisive of what color to sport, just go ombre! something Shiq

A paisley surprise :)

Posting this backlog look which I had a few weeks ago for a client meeting. Due to some styling stints, wasn't able to post soonest. But here it is :)

Paisley prints are amongst the trending prints nowadays. It's good to know that there are other prints in existence aside from florals :) For this look, I went for shades of pastels. I'm a pastel aficionado, in case you haven't noticed haha Pastels are so much like candy. They give you a surge of those happy hormones. When I'm in a pastel tone, automatically, my aura translates to light, refreshing sweetness. I see pastels dominating til at least pre-fall season. For pre-fall, pastels are combined with neon, 2 color trends we still can't get enough of. Reinvention is key to keep any look sustaining. Unlike spring/summer 2012,  pastels are collaborating with cooler hues in preparation for fall.

As promised in my earlier post, here are the complete set of colors of Shiq's pre-fall wallet collection. For sorbet lovers like me, you'll find your pick in pastels! I love my blue one! These purse go on fashionably for your mobile phones, or any miniscule neccesities you need to stash for that no-big-bag fuss.

For the bright-color enthusiast, here's your attention grabber!

a new leaf

Here's to my first blog! Finally, after semi-blogging for nearly a year in lb.nu! For my first post, I decided to have fun with pastel!

Forever 21- mint sheer top, blue lace shorts

Best thing about pastels, because they're unabashingly sweet and compromising by nature, you can combine color palettes easily. For this look, I went for a sheer mint top and soft blue lace shorts. I love the floral embroidery of the top. Reminded me of lazy daisies back in grade school. Ffor my hair, pulled a sock-bun (thanks to my sissy Charm for showing me how :) ), slid in a pair of round sunnies and whala, pastels in the 50's!

Dorothy Perkins- gold belt from dorothy perkins
Folded & Hung- black round sunnies

To transform this tamed ensemble to take off with flaire, I opted to accessorize with gold metals and non-conformist hardware. Finished off with nude pumps. Key when playing with colors, choose 1 color to cement your whole look together.

Forever 21- gold triangle earrings with crystal

Forever 21- gold & mint beaded choker neckpiece

Forever 21- spikes bracelet

Janilyn- nude pumps
