cuts like a knife

Lately, I find myself obsessing with the cutout trend. Cutouts are innovative fashion creations which we can rely on when we're tired of the sexy norm-- bandage dresses, venus cut/ plunging necklines, maxi dresses, and so forth and so on. What's refreshing about cutouts is that you can indulge in them without giving it all- a discreet show of skin- my take on sophisticated-sexy.

For this look, I grabbed my fave maillot and introduced it to my faux-reptilian leggings. You'd think swim wear pieces only belonged to the vast sands and h20? Think again :) To extend my investments on swim wears, I stash them to the city to acquiant them with their urban potential :) ...

I've noticed I haven't posted anything wearing leggings yet (or at least alloted an entire blog on it. Just remembered I wore a different version and posted it together with my Mega stint). Leggings are staple pieces you can pair with just about anything. Most of the time, I'd don tights under dresses or oversized/ lengthy shirts. But because I'm goin after an inspiration-worthy look here (forgive me, but I can only try), I thought I'd brave my overly conscious lower limbs (aka thighs :))and suck the living daylight out of me. hehe I think 'we' survived... barely...

So, if you want to give this fashion a shot, no need to scramble to the nearby mall. If you're a keeper of maillots (1 pc swim wear with cuts), all you have to do is try 'em with any of your fab bottom pieces and off you go! :)

Threw over a gilet (vest) for a complete urban experience. Something you can translate in for a lunch mtg with the boss or simply running for a cup of coffee.

Mega Mix & Max: 1 Dress, 7 Events

Introducing, Ever New, from Melbourne! Was psyched to do this feature with MegaStyle.ph.
For this feature, I prepared 7 equally sassy looks donning Ever New's Becky Bow dress. This piece stood out from the racks for these reasons: backless bow (which you can also wear as front!), full-on lace, blue-ish purpl-ish tinge. I love this blue shade!

While styling for Ever New, I had to mentally check the brand's target market. In as much as I would want to indulge in editorial opulence, I had to bear in mind that the feature will be released viral which means most of the viewers are real people who appreciate wearable fashion. To be an effective stylist, you should know when to pull the brakes. Edit. Eliminate. Edit. Eliminate... Less is more.

So, here it is. Ever New's Becky Bow dress translated in 7 different occassions. Hope you'll be able to draw inspiration from any of these collections.

Oh, btw, this is what I wore on the day I dropped by Mega to work on the collection. Believe it or not, this black sheer top was unearthed from Pandora's box sealed with my highschool days. I had it for a crazy dance competition during my senior year. Amazing how sheer found its course back into fashion. What I bear in mind when clearing my closet-- hold on to pieces with inimitable qualities, because you never know the wonders locked in them... or which genre you'll be seeing them again :)

exposed

We recently celebrated our grandparents' 80th birthday last June 16 at my mom's hometown in Calapan, Mindoro. It was a lil Breakfast At Tiffany's rendezvous. Sorry, I couldn't get more photos, or more decent photos at that, was busy reconnecting with family and friends, some who even flew in to grace this one-time affair. Anyhow, here's best effort  (though I know you guys deserve more :( ) :)

sheer mint

Best wishes to my friend Maybz, and her new hubby, Daniel. It was a beautiful wedding last June 10 at San Agustin Church,Intramuros Manila, followed by luscious reception at the Manila Pen.
Here's what I wore to this dear wedding banquet. Took some snaps at Intramuros. Cobblestones, intricate wood arhitecture, brightly colored windows spelled nostalgic Manila.
